Join the Ohio Valley District of PMA for its members only Senior Managers’ Roundtable and networking lunch on November 14th. Industry leaders will gather to discuss the current environment surrounding metalforming companies and pressing issues in the industry.

Wayne Boeckman, PMA’s 1st vice chairman and president of Texas Metal Spinning, a Division of Metal Spinners, Inc., will join us to facilitate discussion as well as report on the state of PMA and outlook for 2008. Join the Ohio Valley District of the Precision Metalforming Association for a presentation on costing and estimating in a job-shop environment.

Does your quoting process allow your company to generate accurate, timely quotes that meet your company’s internal needs as well as your customer’s needs? If not, or if you have doubts, this session is for you. An effective quoting process is generally a mix of art and science. We will outline a practical approach to defining production process and support costs and linking these to a flexible Microsoft® Excel-based quoting template. A case study will be presented to re-enforce the discussion. Specific topics include:

Mr. Kenneth Julien, a manager in Plante & Moran’s Technology & Process Consulting and Practice, more than 25 years of experience assisting manufacturing and construction companies with process/productivity improvement and cost reduction efforts. Mr. Julien leads the firm’s Advanced Cost Management Practice, and is a frequent speaker and trainer on the application of advanced cost management and quoting techniques. He also specializes in technology-enabled process improvement, including the selection and implementation of ERP and related applications. Mr. Julien is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a B.A. degree in Business Administration. He is a Certified Production and Inventory Manager (CPIM), and a member of the American Production and Control Society (APICS), Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) and Institute of Management Accountants (IMA).
